SECURITY CLEARANCE LAW (FROM INITIAL APPLICATION
THRU APPEALS):
Advice to and representation of U.S. Government employees and
contractors and military personnel during all phases of the security
clearance process -- from initial application thru investigation
and adjudication to appeal.
Assistance to clients in completing security clearance applications
and questionnaires (i.e., SF 86).
Pre-application counseling and screening of potential security
clearance nominees/applicants consisting of interviews; use of a
variety of specialized vetting techniques, as appropriate; document
review; and background checks -- with a focus on identifying,
preventing, and solving potential problems that could result in
clearance denials.
Advice to and representation of persons facing denial or revocation
of their security clearances or sensitive compartmented information
(SCI) access eligibility, to include:
--Preparation of responses to
Statements of Reasons (SOR);
--Representation at personal
appearances before agency personnel security officers and clearance
review appeal panels;
--Representation before
administrative judges at the Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals
(DOHA) "personal appearance" hearings (for civilian USG employees
and military personnel) and Defense Industrial Security Clearance
Review (ISCR) hearings (for government contractors).
--Preparation of written
appeals of adverse decisions of DOHA administrative judges.
NATIONAL SECURITY
LAW:
Discreet representation of Intelligence Community members and other
security clearance holders in routine criminal and traffic charges
(i.e., domestic violence allegations, DUI's/DWI's, etc.) with the
goals of obtaining the most favorable judicial disposition possible
while concurrently protecting agency affiliation, security
clearances, careers, and families.
Knowledgeable and effective advice to and representation of
employees of the DOD and civilian intelligence and security agencies
during security and counterintelligence investigations.
MILITARY LAW:
Representation of members of the Armed Forces in military justice
matters to include nonjudicial punishments, Article 32 pretrial
investigations, courts-martial.
Legal
advice and representation in response to adverse
administrative personnel actions and investigations.
CRIMINAL LAW:
Aggressive, zealous, and competent defense of clients facing felony
and misdemeanor charges (to include DWI/DUI charges
and other serious traffic offenses) in all Maryland state and
federal courts.
Representation at Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA)
driver's license suspension/revocation hearings before Office of
Administrative Hearings (OAH) administrative law
judges.
Representation of minor children at Juvenile Court delinquency
hearings and Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) administrative
proceedings. |
